My dad aged 67yrs this yrhad a medtronic aicd implantation in october 2012. what blood pressure range is safe for him. it was going to 170 over 100?

Too high: Normal blood pressure should be under 120/80. Average BP above 140 systolic or 90 diastolic is harmful to the blood vessels and can cause heart attack, stroke or kidney disease. Best to monitor BP at home using an automatic machine with an upper arm cuff - if average BP done several times a day at least once a week is above 140 or 90 then see a doctor. There are lots of treatments. Good luck!
