is it safe to let our cat sleep with our baby?

No: It is dangerous to let your cat sleep with your baby for several reasons. Cats can get jealous, just like small children, and may exhibit behaviors which are out of character. Cats can carry germs which may make your baby sick. Your cat may smother the baby without even realizing it.
Dr. Michael Amster

No: A pet in the crib is just not a good idea. They are a sids risk, and have the potential of scratching or biting the baby if accidentally grabbed or rolled on. However, this is not "lady and the tramp", and cats do not intentionally suffocate children, that's an urban legend. So do not encourage the cat to go in there, but if it does happen, it's not a desperate emergency.
Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
No: A 7 month old baby will likely poke at or grab a part of the cat, neither of which will make the cat happy. Parents should constantly watch the baby if any pets are nearby. A dog or cat will likely sniff a baby to remember the baby's scent, and to find out what is going on, just out of curiosity. Other types of pets should probably stay away from babies.

What are some healthy ways to get a crying baby to stop crying?

List of fixes: It helps if mom/dad make a list of what things they can do something about, for those times they are tired & can't think clearly. Offer feed if not fed within last 2hr. Warm if cold. Cool off if warm. Change if dirty. Console if in need of nurturing. A warm bath can relax them. If nothing works & baby is otherwise well, put on the headphones & let the kid figure it out.

How can I keep from stressing about my unborn baby's being normal and myhealth?

Dr. Mandakini Patel

Prenatal stress: You should talk to ur OB & if he/she tells you everything is okay you should not stress yourself. The baby feels your stress as well so it would be better to let your doctor worry &stress for your & your baby's health if needed. You should enjoy your pregnancy&be happy. If your doctor told you some thing is wrong, there may be other things you could do besides stressing. Use ur energy positively.

Depends: Bleeding, spotting and discharge after having a baby is very normal. The time will vary from person to person. Usually it stops within 3-6 weeks. Breastfeeding women sometimes will have irregular spotting instead of normal periods due to the hormonal changes.
