This may be related to periodic limb movement of sleep which non-voluntary movement of the big toe that can progress to the foot and/or the entire leg. This is typically benign in nature but can cause a patient to have frequent brief awakenings at night that may result in being tired or fatigued during the day. If this is a problem you should talk with your doctor or consult a sleep medicine physician.
