I get outer ear infections all the time. ent said it was no big deal. what could cause constant outer ear infections. ears are always itchy.

Common Problem: This is a relatively common problem. Keep water out of your ears (ear plugs in the shower) and try to quit scratching the itch (hard to do). A topical otc steroid cream placeed at the entrance to the ear canal fro several days may break the itching/scratching cycle.
