what short term side effects of radiation treatment?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Sewa Legha
49 years experience Medical Oncology
Minimal: Radiation is usually free of side effects for the first 2-3 weeks of use. Then it can cause some mild local skin redness or sun burn like effects. It can also cause sores in the mouth or any mucosal area which is in the field of radiation. Some fatigue or nausea can be experienced on rare occasions.
