See ur doctor: The most common cause is hard stools causing a small tear in the anus. If he had a hard stool when u found the blood this is probably the cause. If not, or if it is actually loose, then call your doctor. If associated with fever or abdominal pain/fussiness then it is urgent you see your doc or go to er.

Blood like stool: If your child stool is like currant jelly and is having abdominal pain he should be seen on an emergency basis by your doctor or go to the er. He may have an intusseption. Otherwise, check to see if he has rectal fissure from passing hard stool.
