A member asked:

is it safe to skip a dtap shot if my baby had a bad reaction in the past?

It depends..: In most cases, previous reactions to a vaccine are not a reason to avoid future doses. It is important for your child to be fully immunized against life threatening disease like diptheria, pertussis and tetanus. Tell your baby's doctor as much as possible about the previous reaction so that you can make an informed decision together.

No: Though it's not very common, infants can have fevers after their vaccination. Vaccinations work by stimulating the immune system and it's the immune response that can occasionally cause a fever. There are very few reasons, other than significant allergic reactions, to delay the next dose in a series. This is from the cdc: http://www.Cdc.Gov/vaccines/recs/vac-admin/contraindications-vacc.Htm.

Generally NO: It depends upon what the reaction was. Fussiness, fever, or soreness are aggravating, but not overly dangerous. An anaphylactic (severe allergic) or severe neurological reaction may be the only reasons not to immunize again. Discuss with your doctor.

Yes: Yes but...You need to make sure you are still getting plenty of calories. I'd recommend doing the common sense things - eating healthy foods, exercising, but not going crazy with calorie restriction.

Yes: Get a semen analysis at an infertilty office not a lab because an infertilty sub specilaist will have certified andrologist on staff to properly analyze the specimen.

Antihistamine: A short course of antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will help. It is advisable to have your doctor classify the allergic reaction and document in your medical record the type of antibiotic which caused the reaction. Please, always follow directions listed on over the counter meds and better yet double check with a pharmacist.

If I had a body scan today, when can I restart taking my hormone medicine?

Depends on hormones : I think that would depend on the type of hormone you are talking about and the scan you had. If you didnt get instructions then check with your doctor first. Did you have a thyroid scan? Was it a bone scan or a density scan?

A 46-year-old female asked:

I ve had hbp ranging from 170 /110 and pulse at about 100 120 most of the time for about a week despite taking BP drugs. Ekg was negative. Thoughts?

Check with the doc: Many blood pressure medications take longer than a week to have their full effect. Check with your doctor as you may need a higher dose or another medication. Hbp is damaging over the long term most of the time and not over a few days so check with your doctor.
