A 44-year-old member asked:

My baby got a cone head from the vacuum. Will she be ok?

Usually OK: Vacuum assisted delivery can cause soft tissue swelling of a newborn's head, which usually resolves in the first few days of life. It is important that a pediatrician check your baby's head soon after delivery.

A 33-year-old female asked:

Hi! my babys head was completely round when she was born but now at 6 months it seems to be more of an oval shape. Is that anything to worry about?

Probably normal: You can have the doctor check it. Oval is usually normal. The head changes shape throughout at least the first year of life. It doesn't change much after that. It continues to grow until about 2 years of age, but maintains the same shape unless something is done to change it. http://ramseypediatric.com/pediatrics-blog/flat-head-baby-or-positional-plagiocephaly-in-babies/plagiocephaly/.

A 28-year-old female asked about a female:

My baby throws her head around a lot and sometimes hits it on things. I'm afraid she will really harm herself. How do I know when to be concerned?

Need more info: Need to know baby's age and birth history. What you describe is not uncommon but you should bring this to the attention of the pediatrician before the baby hits his/her head on something hard & causes a big problem .
A female asked:

My baby dropped a week ago.1 meter high.her head have a huge bump after.she stil have the bump but smaller but still visible. Is it dangerous?

Bump on the head: Trauma to the head can be very serious. There can be lasting effects from the trauma after the incident. Age is important as well due to the development of bones and organs. It difficult to predict if head trauma was significant enough to cause damage. Typically if the child appears his/her usual self, eating and doing other normal activity the likelihood of serious damage is low.
