A member asked:

My cervical mri report listed: mild left hemicord flattening & foraminal stenosis at c5/c6. spinal canal is 7.5mm. impression: (etc.) moderate left spinal canal stenosis. in severe pain, numbness. q: what mm should the spinal canal be at this level?

13 mm or above is usually considered adequate diameter of the cervical canal. Your canal is significantly narrowed, and appears spinal cord is being compressed. Contact a neurosurgeon and consider decompressive procedure. Suspect the cervical stenosis is long standing as likely congenital variant.
