Psychological apprehension about immersion in water is a common reaction, perhaps based on unconscious fears from former episodes where fear of drowning occurred. "Adrenolin" produced secondary to fear even if unconsciously evoked can restrict breathing ease ("tight chest") but is usually not related to adverse health concerns.
