my 6y/o on 22mg methotrexate injections a week for jra. how much folic acid does she need?

Ask her doctor: Her doctor can draw a folate (folic acid) blood level and determine if her Folic Acid is low and/or how much she needs. I wouldn't just start her on Folic Acid without checking her level first, unless recommended by her doctor.

Folic acid need: Five mg per day should suffice.

Unlikely: Injectable Methotrexate would be an unlikely cause of the GI problems. See your doc. Are you on any other meds?

JRA: It can take sometime before it helps I have seen patients it takes 4-6 weeks before it works. Always consult your doctor if it takes longer.
