The Pfizer/Moderna and J&J vaccines all confer from 80-90 % prevention of serious manifestations of COVID infection. If the vaccine is administered after/during a coincident viral infection, the vaccine may not prevent early symptoms or serious clinical disease, depending on the vulnerability of the patient receiving the vaccine (age, prior illness, etc.).
