A 42-year-old male asked:
Over the past 2 months, my lipase has been increasing. in january i went from 45 to 52 (norm lab is under 60) and recently to 62 and now 66. is the slow upward trend something to be concerned about? amylase is at the high border of normal as well?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you drink alcohol, stop entirely and repeat the test in 2-3 months after abstaining.
Wish you good health!
