Calf pain: Phlebitis is always a concern when calf pain occurs, especially when the calf is impinged. Trauma to the vein at the site of calf compression can traumatize the vein and cause clot formation. It is possible that you have muscle pain, but see your orthopedic specialist and a venous ultrasound would be advisable even in the absence of leg or ankle swelling.
