Anxiety: It sounds like you are describing anxiety. Low thyroid function can cause anxiety, as can low Progesterone and several other hormonal imbalances. Get your hormone levels checked. You could also have some faulty thinking and benefit from working with a therapist.

Mountains?: I'm not certain I understand your question. I think you may be asking if going to the mountains can help manage stress. For many people, that would be true. For some people, I can imagine mountains as being stressful.

Breathing exercises: You can start by doing breathing exercises. Sit comfortably in a quiet place, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Take slow, deep and full breaths, feel the air going into your lungs and coming out of your nose. Feel your stomach filling up with each breath and try to make your stomach go in and out with each breath. This technique will help you gain control of your anxiety.

See your physician: There are many causes of stress and depression. A thorough history and physical can help determine whether you have a medical condition that could cause these symptoms. However, you may have clinical depression and/or anxiety OR another psychiatric diagnosis. We do not fully understand the cause of these psychiatric conditions.
