Sprain: Most likely this is a sprain of a ligament between the two bones. It can cause pain and when the muscles around it get tight, usually in the morning the pain is the most evident.

Back Pain: Point bony tenderness over the spine may require imaging and further evaluation. Factors such as how long this problem has been going on for, your age, family history, and other risk factors also need to be taken into consideration and may necessitate further testing to investigate the cause of your back pain.
