slammed my thumb in a door on 2/22. the nail swelled and bruised. now the nail is open at the bottom (near cuticle) and detached from my thumb on one side. all of dried blood washed out. wondering when a new nail will grow to replace it?

Yes: Indeed a new nail will grow. It must be very painful. Elevation of the foot is definitley helpful - must be elevated above the heart.

Post op bruising: and mild bleeding are not uncommon. you may have an accumulation of old blood and certainly call your surgeon to document what you are experiencing.

See doctor: Two months is too long to be living with an open wound. See your doctor. If you do not have one, go to the emergency room of a nearby hospital.
