Yes: Yes, there is always the possibility of a misdiagnosis, but pregnant women have a higher probability of something called asymptomatic bacteruria. That is when bacteria is found in the urine without any burning, frequency, or urgency. Treatment is very important to reduce any ill effects to the baby.

Depends: If you had a urine culture that grew out a bacteria, you have an infection. Not all infections cause symptoms though. However, many physicians usually check a urinalysis since it is quick and does not require a few days for culture to come back. If the urine is dirty and shows bacteria, we usually presume a possible infection. However, a dirty urine doesn't always grow out on culture.

See below: Did u give a urine for analysis. If there was microscopic amount of red cells and white cells in the urine, generally some doctors assume you have an infection. Without symptoms it is hard to make this diagnosis unless you are immunocompromised there are other causes of red and white cells in theu rine which may require a look inside the bladder.

Frequency/burning: Urinary frequency(going often with a small amount of urine) and burning when the urine is passed, especially the last few drops are classic symptoms of uti. Any blood in the urine(hematuria) should also be a cause for alarm to see a md for evaluation. Frequent sexual intercourse, wiping from back to front for females, and vaginal placement of anal objects without washing all raise risks for uti.
