Not predestined: Schizophrenia may have a genetic predisposition but not determination. Too much is made about genetics and disease. For all but very few diseases, genetics puts you at risk of a disease (including schizophrenia) by only 10%. The rest is your environment and experiences. As an identical twin, you might have a little higher than 10% but there is no rule that both twins will get the same disease.
