im a type 2 diabetic and hypertension patient. my current meds are metformin 850mg x2 a day and sinopren 20mg x 1 tablet a day. would it be advisable to get the flu vaccination and pneumococcal vaccine?

ABSOLUTELY : Diabetes, even Type 2, affects your immune system and function and makes you more susceptible to getting illnesses. Also, if you do contract the illness, it is likely to be worse because your immune system doesn't work as well. You can mitigate this somewhat if not altogether by getting the vaccines to assist your immune system in fighting off the disease.
