i get pains in my left leg, recently more frequent.back lower thigh, above & below the front knee, between the calf & tendon, muscle in front of the shin & the bottom arch of the foot. is this any reason for concern & should i visit a gp?

Pain: Sounds like a strain of your hamstring. A likely explanation to explain your symptoms down your leg would be irritation to your peroneal nerve. If no signficant trauma (car accident for example) then conseervative therapy appropriate. NSAID regulary and try to stretch. If no improvement then be seen.
