Depends: We would first have to figure out the etiology to know the best treatment, see an orthopedist for proper evaluation and treatment.

Apply it: Usually 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. Careful, if it feels too cold, one could themselves frostbite. You can either wrap the ice like in a bag, or wear an article of clothing over the skin.
