A 25-year-old female asked:

after i use the bathroom, the left lower side of my abdomen swells and i feel a bump. it goes down after a few hours. i had a ct scan and everything was normal. could this be a hernia?could the ct scan have missed something?

Doctor can examine: Doctors offices have restrooms, so a patient with this situation can see her primary care doctor for an exam, go use the doctor's restroom, and get a second exam... and that should help the doctor decide what the bump is. Hopefully, there is a significance difference before and after the restroom, so it won't be hard for the doctor to figure it out.
