friend of mine has lyme disease and had to quit his job. how do you get lyme disease?

Tick, fly bites &...: Lyme disease is caused by a bacteria, borrelia burgdorferi & is commonly thought to be transmitted by deer ticks. However, half of those proven to have lyme don't recall being bitten by a tick (most likely were but did not notice). It is proven that lyme can be transmitted by biting flies & possibly by mosquitoes, fleas, spiders etc. It can be transmitted in utero to babies & possibly sexually.

Unlikely: If it is causing symtoms it is unlikley to clear without medication. Get treatment immediately. This disease has many long term complications.
