Doxycycline: Doxycycline is a well tolerated drug; probably you won't have any side effects. The most important, especially in your climate, is photosensitivity -- i.e. increased susceptibility to sunburn. Limit sun exposure with clothing and a strong sunblock on exposed skin. Stomach upset can be an issue, usually prevented by taking doxy with food. Small chance of diarrhea.
