Allergic rhinitis: Ultimately you will need formal allergy testing. I suggest the following: 1-nasal lavage with sterile nasal saline- 2-3 times daily. S 2- A good daily antihistamine- Claritin or Zyrtec 1/day 3-nasal cortisone- Flonase, NasaCort or Nasonex- 2 sprays/nostril every morning. Your physician should do routine allergy testing and possibly place you on a leukotriene inhibitor like Singulair. No Advil.
