child 4 year high fever 38-39° for last 3 days, been giving panado syrup and nurofen to keep fever down. how long should we wait to see a doctor?

Other issues ???: If the kid drinks well enough to pee every 6 hrs, plays when the fever is down & is otherwise happy, this may run its course. If the kid is tired/lethargic, won't play, feeds poorly and or spooks you have the kid evaluated.
