May not be cold sore: The nose is an odd location for a cold sore. It would be more common for staph germs that are commonly carried inside the nose to cause recurrent blister like sores around the nose outlet. A culture of one of these sores may reveal staph & if so an oral antibiotic & simultaneous abx nose ointment may stop the cycle.
