I have been taking prescription version of omeprazole for several years. i had bad reflux prior, but is basically gone with this script. i take one pill daily. should i be concerned with prolonged use?

Maybe: If the you have not been checked for H. pylori, a cause of GERD and ulcers, it is it a good idea to do so. If your lack of symptoms, because meds work, prevents you from optimizing your weight and diet and lifestyle that causes or aggravates reflux, then that is not so great. Especially as we are finding some complications with long term use in older people. You may not even need it now! See MD
