friction from pillow caused neck to become much darker than face. what can i do to correct and prevent it?

Doubt it.: Unless your pillow is covered with sandpaper, I'd doubt that the friction is causing the darkening at your neck. Even if it is, why not try a softer pillow with very smooth cover to see if it helps. Consider seeing a dermatologist if this bothers you a lot.

Pre-diabetic finding: A darkened ring of tissue on your neck is not pillow rub. It is most likely a sign you have pre-diabetes or actual type 2 diabetes. This often comes on quite slowly & without obvious symptoms you would notice. You need to get in and have this checked before the long term side effects cause other more worrisome problems with your kidneys, eyes & other organs.

Dark neck skin: is not from you pillow. Being a neat, clean person who treats others the way he would like to be treated is more attractive than skin color in my opinion. You can see a dermatologist to make sure all is well w/your skin also. Peace and good health.
