i have a chronic sinus infection and have been given gentomycin fluid to mix with saline and use as a sinus wash i am concerned that it is ototoxic ?

Yes: but the amount absorbed into your general circulation after IRRIGATION of the sinuses is VERY unlikely to cause hearing diffculties!!

Risk vs Benefit: Gentamycin could cause permanent hearing damage, yes. The problem is that chronic sinusitis could cause abscesses which eat away at bone and reach your brain. The risks are high on both ends. My advice is to start by cutting processed carbs and sugar out of your diet, drink PLENTY water & visit ENT specialist asap to check risk vs benefit of different treatment options. Be sure to stop smoking.
