Define help: In many states a doc can loose or have restrictions placed on their license for doing what you ask. They require an in person history/physical & related testing before prescription meds are given along with full records that document need. This site is for answering medical questions when you describe a problem. There are no treatments sent out from this site.

Excellent: Inexpensive also but like anything else, it's all about you and what works for you. Talk to your doctor. Sometimes we try several until we find what works best for you.

I would like Prozac (fluoxetine) not for depression but to lower my sexdrive. Could i lie to my dr. And get some?

Why lie?: It is an off label but legitimate use for prozac (fluoxetine). However, bipolar disorder does need to be ruled out as a cause of your elevated sex drive or else Prozac (fluoxetine) could actually make it worse. Please be very straightforward with your physician and i think you will be rewarded with good results. Best wishes.

I need doctor's advice on using fluoxetine for depression?

Dr. Heidi Fowler answered

Please don't self-: Treat without medical supervision. Fluxetine (prozac) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor which can be used to treat depression (and other conditions). It can be effective (especially when combined with some form of talking therapy). Please talk with your doctor to obtain more information. Take care.
