what are the reasons doctors tell you not to wear deoderant or perfume before a mammogram?

Mess up the films: Deodorant or talc powder can leave small white speckles on the mammogram. These may look like breast microcalcifications and can be a problem for the radiologist.

Mammo: The residue may contain radiopaque components that could look like suspicious microcalcifications on the mammogram.
