Exam needed: Recurrent discomfort in the midupper abdomen is seen in inflammation of the stomach lining(gastritis) or peptic ulcer of stomach or duodenum. Pancreatitis would be more persistent. Avoid caffeine, alcohol,nicotine,spices and take a medication like omeprezole or ranitidine. Get examined by your physician for definitive diagnosis if symptoms persist.
