Induce labor? No.: No, chiropractors do not induce labor. Chiropractors are not allowed to prescribe, dispense, or administer medications as this falls outside of their primary training. It is possible that some claim to have special "chiropractic techniques" for inducing labor without drugs, but more likely they just do helpful massage, plus movements and positioning of a woman's back, hips, and legs.

It is worth pointing out that DOs (Osteopathic Physicians) do indeed have techniques of inducing labor with Osteopathic Manipulation. Indeed, our profession has a long history of using OMM to help reduce pre-term labor and help labor to go much more smoothly without the need for medications. Of course, if medications are needed, then we are fully capable of using them safely and effectively.

Massage: Chiropractors provide a deep, sometimes satisfying but occasionally dangerous, massage. They cannot diagnose and have no interest in cure as they want clients to come back again and again. Their disease theory has long ago been discredited but they are charismatic and convincing so patients continue to come back to them.

Is chiropractors helpfull?

Some for some issues: Research suggests that chiropractic treatment is safe and effective for back and neck pain and migraine headaches. Just as not all medical doctors are the same, i find some chiropractors give much higher quality care than others. I prefer chiropractors who use more gentle styles like direct non-force, network and activator techniques. I am wary of those who advise long-term treatment.

No for standard rx: The degree confired on a chiropractor is not that of a medical doctor. They may write for vitamins an some other therapies but not prescriptions for antibiotic blood pressure pain etc
