Simple test: There is a wide range of normal. In saying that, it is common for semen to have a white appearance. If you see your Dr, they can send a sample to the lab for a sperm count and ensure that everything is in order.

See below : The appearance of semen can vary for a variety of reasons, some of which may be significant. Most common cause of clear, watery semen is high frequency of ejaculations which does not allow enough time for the sperm (which contributes to color and viscosity) to replenish. Low sperm count and prostatitis are other possibilities. If high ejaculation frequency not the issue, recommend semen analysis.

No: Your semen should be white or clear. Semen is also usually gelatinous. It might appear yellowish if it contains some urine or pus.

Nothing usually: This usually does not signify a specific problem. The quality of the semen and color can change with certian factors such as diet, medications currently taken, and other comorbidities. If one has symptoms, then more testing is warranted.

Trying to conceive?: If you're not trying to conceive it doesn't mean anything - semen varies in appearance. If you're trying to get pregnant without success, he should get a semen analysis as you can't tell anything about his sperm count or his fertility from the appearance of his semen - you need a microscope to see the sperm.

A 41-year-old member asked:
Is it normal for my ejaculate is a lot more liquid and a yellowish, transparent color?

Maybe normal: Ejaculates can change in color, consistency and volume all the time. It is always more solid when it comes out and liquefies over 30 to 60 min after that, so the liquid aspects depend on when you look at it. Without other symptoms, it may be nothing. A formal semen analysis may be of benefit to know more.
