Endoscopy: An endoscopy or gastroscope are confirmatory test.A referral to a specialist is need for this, however your GP may request a blood or breath test to exclude helicobacter pylori however a positive test does not mean you have an ulcer .Speak to your GP to start on a course of peptic ulcer medication, dietary and lifestyle advice, this may ease your symptoms.
