No: Plain Acetaminophen (tylenol) can be used for pain or fever (call your doctor first if your baby is less than 3 months). If your child is older than 6 months you can also use Ibuprofen (advil/motrin). But over-the-counter cough and cold medications are dangerous in children less than 6 years old.

Dr. Marcus Degraw

12-15 hours per day: On average, an infant will sleep roughly 12-15 hours per day. For most babies, that will be a combination of 10-12 hours at night and 2-4 hours of napping throughout the day.

Sleep Position: Babies who sleep on their stomach or side, have a higher risk of sids, therefore they should always sleep on their back. Pacifier use and background noise, such as a ceiling fan, have been shown to decrease the risk as well. Smokers in the home and overheating have been shown to increase the risk.

Lupus could flare and affect multiple organs in some patients . Patients with active lupus in pregnancy should be under care of a rheumatologist in addition to obstetrician for careful monitoring of lupus during pregnancy, delivery and post pregnancy . Some pregnancies with active lupus should be followed as high risk and followed and treated as such with interventions as indicated

A 23-year-old female asked:

Is it ok to make a 2 month old baby sit upright. Won't it hurt her back bone?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Rodrigo Argenal
Pediatrics 22 years experience
Not natural: Sitting is not natural for a 2 mo old. Laying on a surface semi-upright is. If you sit him supporting him (like on your lap while holding him), then it is ok. I would not advise sitting him by himself on a high chair for example.
