Dry skin: Eczema / Atopic Dermatitis is characterized by dry, sensitive, itchy skin. The skin is unable to maintain moisture in these patients. Sometimes it is caused by an allergy. Hydration with an emolient is the most important preventative strategy. Bath her only once a day in luke warm water, dress her in cool cotton clothing. Sometimes cortisone cream is needed in acute flare ups.
