Not likely: if you are 54 and have had few signs of hip pain to this point, it is low likelihood that it would surface at this time. It may be a groin "strain", hip flexor strain, femoral nerve injury, inguinal strain, or hip [labral tear]
injury. This should be further evaluated by a physician in person.
