This is the kind: of thing that you can watch for a few days, but if it hasn't resolved or is in fact worse.."causing more pain"..it is time for you to see your Doctor. An expert physical examination and possibly some tests (plain skull x-ray or CT) will likely be helpful. Most fluid filled cysts are not hard, but there is a chance the lump could be aspirated.
