laid sideways and knee locked as the bone at the top of my leg came out and hasn't gone back in. knee has been locked for ages. hip is really aching and i am limping everywhere. have i dislocated it? another problem ????

Torn meniscus : Is likely the cause for your locked knee. The knee can often be successfully manipulated in an emergency department to allow for correction. Many times this requires sedation to achieve, so bring a driver. Following this procedure, a knee brace can be worn until consultation with an orthopedic physician, possibly to include a MRI, can be done. An arthroscopic procedure can remove the injury
