Safe for what: Not for birth control. If you don't mind risking getting pregnant, it is relatively safe.

No,..way too risky!: To get pregnant sperm needs to enter the vagina during or around the time of ovulation. At times, there is the chance that "pre ejaculate" or "pre-cum as a slang" has some sperm cells in it, so please do not rely on the Pull-out method for Birth Control! Use BC pills and condoms as well to prevent both Pregnancy and STI's.

3-5 days mid cycle: If you have a 28 day cycle most people ovulate on day 12-14, therefore those are the days to have frequent intercourse. You can also use ovulation prediction kits to zero in a little closer to your most fertile days.

Days 17-18: When your cycles are longer you usually ovulate a little later. The last half of your cycle is usually 14 days, the first half is variable, so that if you have a 3 day longer cycle then you ovulate 3 days later.

Days 16-18: The menstrual cycle is divided into 2 parts - the follicular and luteal phases. The luteal phase begins with ovulation and is relatively consistent at about 14 days. The follicular phase begins on the first day of your period and can vary from person to person and between cycles. Using an ovulation predictor kit, you can pin down ovulation.

Cycle Day#14: The first day of your period is counted as cycle day #1. Most women "ovulate" around cycle day#14. Around that time you might notice: 1. A change in cervical mucus discharge 2. A small amount of pain on one side 3. A surge in a hormone lh detectable using an ovulation detection kit. Consider intercourse beginning day#10 and every other day! good luck!
