I just noticed weird brownish bruise behind my right knee. i didn't hit it against anything so concerned how i got it?

Ruptured Vessel: If it doesn't hurt I would just watch it. Could be a broken blood vessel from anything. If it starts to hurt or get bigger get it checked.

Not uncommon: Inadvertent injuries like this are not uncommon and are not a reason for alarm. Bruising starts to become a reason for further assessment if you notice multiple unexplained bruises or overly heavy menstrual periods or bleeding gums as well.

Bruising: If that is a single bruise on your body, then you may have sustained a slight knock to your knee without realizing it. If you have no other symptoms in your knee joint then this shouldn't be of much concern as it should resolve over time. If you start developing other bruises or knee symptoms then you need a review with your doctor.

Go to a Doctor if: If the brownish bruise persists more than one week, if the bruise changes in color shape size, or you develop fever, pain. It needs to be properly evaluated with a physical exam and medical history.
