Anticoagulant: I recommend no more than one alcoholic drink per day when you're taking an anticoagulant. Alcohol can cause inflammation of the stomach lining which makes bleeding from the stomach a potential problem and an anticoagulant would aggravate the bleeding. The anticoagulant has no antidote at this time. Ideally you should avoid all gastrointestinal irritants so a nonalcoholic beer is better for you.

A small amount: While taking Eliquis, drinking alcohol *can* lead to an increased risk of bleeding. The more you drink, the higher the risk. Different experts will give different advice. In general, one or two beers (12 oz) is considered okay. Just understand that drinking any beer is associated with at least a little risk, and no one can predict exactly how much and in whom bleeding will occur and when.
