my 8yr old has a very sore throat, occasional tight chest and a little hard to breath, had a slight temp a few hours ago, managing to keep that down ?

Laryngitis??: Larynotracheitis might cause sore throats and narrow the airways causing breathing troubles. May pass if just a viral illness but I think safest thing to do here is get an urgent medical check. Then other nasties as well as tonsillitis and asthma can be rapidly excluded and treated.
