ER for episodes: Abnormal heart rhythms can recur, can be too fast, too slow, irregularly irregular, regularly irregular. Can drop blood pressure, cause fainting, etc. If you get chest pressure and can't breathe go to er, and not wait until monday. Call your doc-speak to the doc on call.

PVCs: In all likelihood you are having extra beats that come from the lower heart chamber. If the symptoms have been going on for a long time and you are feeling well otherwise there is no need to rush to the er. Why can't you see the doctor tomorrow? Or at least have someone look at the ECG and give you an answer.

What can be done to treat acne on the face, chest, and shoulders?

Dr. Michael Fisher

Acne Therapy: Acne treatments work by reducing oil production, speeding up skin cell turnover, fighting bacterial infection, reducing the inflammation or doing all four. With most prescription acne treatments, you may not see results for four to eight weeks, and your skin may get worse before it gets better. There are topicals like ziana and epiduo and oral medication like solodyn (minocycline). See your dermatologist.

Does having a slow heart beat cause dizziness?

Dr. William Goldie
Pediatric Neurology 48 years experience
Poor blood flow: The balance centers of the brain depend on good blood flow to the brain. If the heart is beating slowly or is not pumping enough blood into the brain, you will feel dizzy. First is to lie down so that the blood flow does not have to go uphill. Next is to lift the legs to be sure enough blood is getting into the heart. If the brain does not get enough blood flow, you can pass out and fall.

How can I avoid putting pressure on my arm and prevent breast lymphedema?

Dr. James Isobe
Phlebology 54 years experience
General care: Lymphedema of the arm is seen following breast procedures (axillary dissection, radiation), and avoiding putting pressure on the arm doesn't prevent the swelling. Avoid scratches, injury of the arm that can result in infection and further damage of the lymphatics. Seek help of a lymphedema trained physical therapist for specific advice.

If I had a body scan today, when can I restart taking my hormone medicine?

1 doctor answer2 doctors weighed in
Dr. Vance Harris

Depends on hormones : I think that would depend on the type of hormone you are talking about and the scan you had. If you didnt get instructions then check with your doctor first. Did you have a thyroid scan? Was it a bone scan or a density scan?

A 46-year-old female asked:

I ve had hbp ranging from 170 /110 and pulse at about 100 120 most of the time for about a week despite taking BP drugs. Ekg was negative. Thoughts?

Check with the doc: Many blood pressure medications take longer than a week to have their full effect. Check with your doctor as you may need a higher dose or another medication. Hbp is damaging over the long term most of the time and not over a few days so check with your doctor.
