How do you diagnose a strep carrier ?Is ASO being -ve enough to say my child is not a carrier when he has +ve strep swab test without any symptoms?

No: ASO negative generally supports the carrier status. It means the kids immune system does not recognize strep as an invader & does not react to it. At least 5% of the population are carriers year round and that can increase to 20% in high strep seasons. Warm blooded animals can also be strep carriers.
