had outer ankle sprain 20 days back. x rayed ankle, its a ligament sprain.now able to walk mostly no pain but swelling persists on inner & outer ankle?

Water, water,every..: The swelling persists because of the instability of the ankle. The swelling is acting like a water cast to try to minimize further ankle damage. Apparently, 20 days is not long enough for resolution of the sprain. It might be advisable to start wearing an ankle brace to enhance the stability and prompt a swifter recovery.
