There are several types of prostate brachytherapy. Need more detail. Radiation, freezing. Medications or what. Thanks.

Long term effects may include inflammation of rectum &/or bladder. Bleeding, stricture or mucosal ulcer can develop in bladder &/or rectum. In a review by Seattle oncologists, brachytherapy was found superior in all risk groups for survival. In high dose implants, 45 Gy was used and survival was better on brachytherapy alone vs combined with external radiation. Hope it helps. See your oncologist.
